Donald Imholz, CIO of Centene Corporation, has been very fortunate. His company has had very low turnover. He attributes that success to being a growth company. Centene makes substantial investments in IT and Imholz believes IT workers are attracted to companies investing in IT. In terms of talent, Imholz is looking for IT people with healthcare experience, Web, self service, and electronic data interchange. But what he really wants to know is what drives a potential employee. He wants people committed to the company for the long time, and if that coincides with their passion, then they’ll stay for a long time, Imholz said.
