Hive Studio announced that they have successfully obtained a license to produce a game which based on Thailand’s action movie, Ong-Bak. A studio which is also based in Thailand was claimed that they would create a high-quality action game for gamers without forgetting the essence of the film.

It is stated by HIVE Studio in the release that they shared on Tuesday (01 /17). The license to create Ong-Bak’s game was obtained from Sahamongkol Film International, the movie‘s licensees. According to the plan, the game will be launched this year.

Ong-Bak is a film made by Prachya Pinkaew with Tony Jaa as the major star that was released in 2003. It takes a strong traditional values in Thailand, Ong-Bak movie is energetic, fast, hard, but still entertaining.

Some action scenes are made with high accuracy such as a scene in the alley where the main character jumping to a bike that was passed without falling.

According to General Manager of Hive Studio, Kan Supabanpot, they plan to make Ong-Bak game for various platforms. but, he’s not willing to reveal more details about the concept of development, at least on the game’s genre.

Supabanpot ensure that as a studio that also came from Thailand, the employees are fans of the film and that’s why, they desired to make a video game which will able to make a different experience for the players.

Hive studio itself was formerly known as illustration and visual content specializes. Such as their cooperation with Square Enix to supply the artistic content of a strategy game, Front Mission Evolved.
